Ways To Give Back in 2021

Our communities have been through a lot over the past couple of years. End 2021 on a high note by supporting our communities. Here are some ways you can get involved.

CHESTER COUNTY:

  • WEST CHESTER FOOD CUPBOARD FOOD DRIVE WITH KW BRANDYWINE

Our office is collecting food donations to deliver in one big drop to the West Chester Food Cupboard. Collections ends on November 17th. Drop off food donations at the office or contact our team and we will coordinate with you to get your donations and can bring them to the office for you. See what donations are needed here.

  • CHESTER COUNTY FOOD BANK

There are volunteer opportunities available this year. Besides providing food donations, you can partner with one of their farms or gardens, be an ambassador at community events, be hands on in our commercial kitchen, or assist the office team. Find out more about these and other opportunities on their website here.

  • BRANDYWINE VALLEY SPCA

Have a soft spot for animals? This year consider volunteering with Brandywine SPCA or any of the other local shelters. Brandywine SPCA offers programs ranging from administrative volunteers, adoption counselors, dog & cat volunteer programs, baking for the pups, homemade toys for cats, junior & children programs, and more! Learn more about these and other opportunities to assist with the shelter here.

  • HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF CHESTER COUNTY

As the weather starts to change, there is a sense of urgency to complete home building projects as well as manage and stock the ReStore facilities so the new homeowners have access to furnishings. You can assist with these and other volunteer opportunities. Check out their website for the full list, requirements and applications.

  • STATE POLICE HOLIDAY DRIVE WITH KW BRANDYWINE

Our office is collecting NEW coats and toys as part of Pennsylvania State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police’s Holiday Drive. The drop off bin is in the front office - again coordinate with us if you are unable to come to the office but want to donate. Collections end December 3rd. See updates and more information here.

DELAWARE COUNTY:

  • COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY OF DELAWARE COUNTY

During the holidays, CAADC helps over 1,000 children annually from their emergency shelters, transitional/rapid re-housing programs and from economically disadvantaged families with gifts. You can “adopt” a child or family or donate to the toy collection barrel. Food assistance, personal care item donations, and other volunteer services are also available. Review all the opportunities on their website here.

  • SECRET FAMILIES CHRISTMAS CHARITY

Help a family struggling this year to have a spectacular Christmas! You can either support a family, sing up to join the shopping team, wrapping team, present delivery team or tree delivery team. Learn more about how the charity works and how you can get involved here.

  • PROVIDENCE ANIMAL CENTER (DELCO SPCA)

Volunteers are always needed at the Providence Animal Center. Volunteer assist with Dog Kennels & Cattery (cleaning, socialization, training & enrichment), Bathers & Groomers, Off-site Adoption Event Support, Laundry & Dishes, and so much more! See the full list of opportunities here.
